National University of Singapore NUS Law PhD Scholarships in Singapore 2016-2017
The National University of Singapore NUS Law PhD Scholarships in Singapore 2016-2017 is open for applicants from Singapore and International Applicants. It was announced that the National University of Singapore, the Faculty of Law of Asia’s Global Law School awards its doctoral research scholarships for applicants in Singapore and International students.
The NUS Law PhD Scholarships are going to be awarded for the duration of their candidature, subject to satisfactory progress, and with a maximum tenure of four years.
Successful applicants recommended for the award of a Graduate Research Scholarship will receive:
1. A monthly stipend, and
2. A full tuition fee subsidy.
For International Students, the monthly stipend is currently S$2,000.
Probationary PhD students who successfully pass the DCQE will receive an additional monthly stipend of up to S$500 per month.
Scholarship Eligibility:
A good Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB/BA) and a good Master’s degree in Law (LLM/BCL/MJur/MPhil) are the minimum requirements. The Master’s degree in Law should have been awarded with minimum Upper Second Class Honours (or equivalent) and, preferably, with First Class Honours (or equivalent).
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (toefl) is required for all foreign applicants except those from English-medium institutions in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the USA. We strongly prefer the internet-based toefl (iBT). A minimum score of 100 is required.
